Wednesday-July 26-Day 36- The Gingerich's at Heron

This campground is very nice!  It is clean, and well-organized, and very family-friendly! 
We left around 9 AM but first sent a text to Barb! 

"Good Morning Friend!  Missing you!"

We passed several roadside stands selling cherries. We are missing cherry season at home, so stopped and bought some.  They were sooo good!  And locally grown! And so much cheaper than $7 a cup! 😁(Flathead is what this area is called)

Again beautiful blue skies provided a backdrop for delightful scenery.....

This is Montana!!

Lots of ranches....few shade trees.

Seasoned barns exude the old west vibe....

Rows and rows of round bales....

an occasional oasis....

At the little village called Belnap, we came to this country store...
we stopped, and as we had suspected, it was run by local Mennonites.  They had quite a variety of fresh produce, bulk foods, a deli, a gift shop, local canned goods....a local's everything store , and a tourist's out-of-the-way charm.

By 1:30 (after traversing dusty, gravel roads)  we arrived at our destination....the home of Darryl and Rosanne Gingerich's at Heron, Montana. Rosanne is Marie's niece, the oldest daughter of her sister, Edith, who was married to  Nick Kampen. (both with the Lord now). We set up our RV on their elevated driveway.

Rosanne had to leave for work shortly. Helayna gave us a little tour of the place.

Marie has been waiting to get her feet in that creek! 

Rosanne cooks for the seniors at the Heron Community Center, and invited us to come for supper.  Her kids came too. We had a delicious meal of veggie soup and salad, followed by chicken alfredo, garlic bread,  and green beans, with watermelon and rice krispie squares for dessert. We enjoyed meeting some of the locals, and some of their church family.

After we all got home we sat on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful Montana evening, while we caught up with family happenings!
