Sunday-July 9-Day 19-Early morning worship to early evening beauty!

We had previously planned to join our home church via live stream again this Sunday morning.  But when we realized we were now 4 hours difference, we knew our church service would start at 6 AM! 

I woke up shortly after six and we made it! (With PJ's and coffee!) What a blessing to worship with our church family again!

 When church was over it  was only 7:30, so we decided to cook breakfast. Pancakes with fresh strawberries and maple syrup!

When we were driving toward Nenana yesterday I was reading some literature about the town.  I saw there was a blue-grass gospel festival Friday and Saturday.  I knew we would miss that, but along with the festival was a community church service on Sunday morning, which we decided to attend.  So we packed up camp, and drove the few blocks to the Civic center. However, the building was not handicap accessible, not even remotely, as there were several wooden steps to get into the building at two entrances. So we decided to move on and head for Denali.  I was disappointed because I was looking forward to meeting some local Christians.  This was a largely Athabascan village, very Alaskan.

So we continued south about 70 miles on the beautiful Parks Highway, to Denali National Park, the crown jewel of Alaska! We stopped at the Visitors Center, saw 2 films a Alaska, and chose a tour to take tomorrow.  It was a beautiful sunny day !  We then decided to drive out the Park Road, for 15 miles, which is as far as they allow people to go in their own vehicles. We were not even out of the Visitors Center when we hit a "Moose" traffic jam!  This Moma and her calf were out  by the road eating grass, seemingly oblivious to the many cars and people who were taking pictures!

I am sorry bout the picture over-load,

 but this foretaste of tomorrow was a  beautiful blessing!

We do not know the name of this mountain, but as we were coming back from the drive this beautiful white mountain came into view.  It glistened in the sunlight!  It was so far away I had to draw it closer with the lens. Because of where we saw it, we didn't think it was Denali mountain, but we decided it was OUR Denali!  ( Just in case we do not see the real one tomorrow!)

Don't miss what the mosquito is carrying!  I think it is to emphasize the size (imaginary) of the mosquitos.

Laughter is the best medicine and we do a lot of it!

We found a campsite just 8 miles from tomorrow's destination,
at Denali RV Park. Dinner was strawberry salad and hot dogs with left over BBQ on top! We hit the hay early as our day  trip out through Denali National Park starts at 8 AM.
It was the end of another relaxing and worshipful Lord's Day!
