Margie, Marie and Barb arrived to pick me up shortly after 9 AM and before 9:30 we were on the road for our last day of travel. Our day of driving from New Hampshire to home was rather uneventful, except several times around the cities we saw this red line on the GPS.
The alternative route that was offered took us on some nice back country roads,
a refreshing change from the super highways.
Early evening we were driving south on Route 501 when Margie suggested we take a little detour and she would show us where she grew up. Her brother lives there now, and while we were gone he had had sugery.
So Margie was eager to see how he was doing.
When we arrived he was outside burning trash. He was doing well and glad to see her!
She showed us how the farm used to be when she was growing up. Her dad was a "truck" farmer, and peddled his produce from house to house.
Below is the farm, which is north of Myerstown.
| It was a perfect conclusion to a wonderful journey! THE END. |
